The 3" Reel Frog from Gitzit is a very lifelike replica. The floating, paddle-like legs perfectly imitate the swimming movement of a frog when lightly jigged. A Reel Frog is supplied pre-rigged on a lightweight 2/0 Needlepoint hook and is suitable for surface fishing between water lilies and over weedbeds, primarily for perch, thanks to its hollow body. With a little weight, e.g. presented on a light jig, the frog goes on a diving trip. On a Texas or Carolina rig, the Reel Frog makes perfect use of these advantages: during the pause, the frog drifts up on the loose line while it begins to swim under pull and tension. Pike as well as big chub and trout will be just as attracted to this realistic imitation.
